SIMAM

SIMAM is a network distributed information system to manage environmental networks. Using a user hierarchy defined by the system, it allows network management, obtaining data from the stations of the environmental network as well as external data sources, analysis and presentation of data and connection with other systems and applications. It uses a client-server technology, which means that data resides in a server computer which makes the heaviest calculations, so the client applications only have to function as user interface. It uses an Oracle Relational Database, version 8.1.7, which can be found in many platforms (Windows NT, UNIX, etc).

The SIMAM system is a distributed information system oriented towards environmental networks management. Through a hierarchical user philosophy defined in the system, the operator can manage network communications, data collection from the environmental stations, data analysis, data reporting and
information exchange with other systems or Control Centres. SIMAM is a client-server system where the server hosts the data and carries out all complex operations. The SIMAM systems works with one of the more powerful database engines:

The main functionalities of the SIMAM system are briefly described below:
- Data collection from environmental stations.
- Data communications with Local Authorities Control Centre. - Data storage on Oracle database server.
- Data reporting according to Spanish and European laws for inmission and emission values.
- Statistical data reporting.
- Data graphs.
- Data backup.
- Automatic data identification and validation.
- Alert management.
- Remote calibration of environmental analyzers.
